INDIVIDUAL ADVOCACY

Do you feel your rights as a person with a disability have been denied?

Self advocacy provides and assists consumers with disabilities whose access to services, benefits and programs has been denied.

Education on consumers’ rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Housing Act and state and federal benefit programs is available.

Advocacy may consist of assistance with benefits, mediation with landlords and other service providers or community businesses.

SYSTEMS CHANGE ADVOCACY

Do you want to help eliminate barriers and discrimination against people with disabilities?

Advocacy is the foundation upon which independent living was built.

The goal of systems advocacy is to create positive change to legislation and policies, educate legislators, and organize and train the disability community to advocate for themselves.

If you would like to be part of this change, contact FREED and join the group of advocates working for systems change
