Welcome to the Documenting Disability History website!
The goal of the Documenting Disability History Project is to collect the stories of the activists, community members, and people with disabilities in the Nevada County area who have helped to shape the Disability Rights and Independent Living movements from the 1970s through today.
The purpose of this website is to make the transcripts and audio recordings of our interviews available to the general public. You can also find information here about the goals of the project and the people and organizations who have made this work possible, see photographs from the archives of organizations such as FREED and the Neighborhood Center of the Arts, and download podcasts of our history exhibit.
We want this website to be accessible to everyone. Please contact us if you encounter any problems.
